TINEKE PORCK
Tineke Porck’s work is related to constructivism, zero and minimal art. Her work is distinguished by a highly personal character and an inquisitive, coherent development.
Both her early plastics and the recent work exude a law all its own. The work is composed instinctively rather than mathematically. Constant is the modesty of form, color and composition. The playful originality in the strict domain of constructivism, the experimental approach from a consistent concept, the consistency of the oeuvre, the craftsmanship and the authentic enthusiasm of Porck are ingredients that deliver a high level.
The works from the recent series ‘Shifts’ are so-called “sculptural paintings”. The series is part and outcome of years of research within the conceptual-concrete visual arts.
All work revolves around connection, space and structure. The Shifts series explores the effect of shifting identical shape elements and the meaning of color, horizontality, and verticality. The synergy between the individual elements and the space determines the experience. The specific structure of the surface of the work also contributes to this. Painting and space are combined to deliver a high level of construction.
